HI NEIGHBORS!
"You never know what you had until it’s gone."
— Mr. Mike’s Neighborhood
YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU HAD UNTIL IT’S GONE
I guess we should approach this topic before we tackle anything else. When I closed Mr. Mike’s Neighborhood it was because I felt the Community didn’t appreciate everything we do. Be after it was closed for a week, a great number of Neighbors were coming out of the woodwork asking us not to close, and to not tear down the Food Pantry and Free Library. Their reasons were unanimous that the only reason they didn’t fill out the anonymous vote of confidence or join the Class Action Lawsuit was fear; fear of what Park Management and Sun Communities would do to them in retaliation if they found out. But that wasn’t the big reveal. They were afraid to even associate directly with Mr. Mike’s Neighborhood. Can you believe that? Who created that fear because I know it wasn’t myself or Miss Linda. I guess that will be up to you to determine.
DON’T BE AFRAID ANY LONGER
I received this information directly from a Division Vice President that a resident (Neighbor) cannot be evicted as long as you pay your rent on time, keep your property up, and be good to your Neighbors. If this is true, you should have no fear of eviction for repair requests, complaints or frustration from decisions made by Park Management and Sun Communities. I’ve received complaints from Neighbors saying they were threatened with eviction just because they were frustrated by Park Management not making repairs in a timely manner. Please don’t be afraid of standing up for your rights. If you’re ever not certain how to proceed with your actions, or even your thought processes, visit www.mobilehomeresident.com and I’m sure your answer will be there. If it’s not, text me your question and I’m sure I can have an answer for your within 24 hrs. Sun Communities may be big, but they are still governed by laws. Mr. Mike’s Neighborhood will always be there for you even when they won’t.
MORE THEFTS FROM MR. MIKE’S NEIGHBORHOOD
So far, I’ve had a bicycle, weed wacker, blower, bolt cutters, garden
rake, lawn mower, and now, someone has stolen my Children’s Step
Stool that helped even the little ones step up to get a book.
If you know who took it, please ask them to give it back. Just drop it
off in the evening when no ones around and all will be forgiven.
I STILL WANT TO DO MORE FOR OUR CHILDREN
In April, I sent a letter to Crayola to see if they would donate 100 boxes
of Washable Sidewalk Chalk so I could put on a Grand Event for the kids.
It would be great. I suspect every kid will want to participate, would bring
their parents to Register, get their free box of chalk, and the directions for
the event. After the time allotted to make their drawing, all the parents and their children would walk around the park to view everyone’s creation. Certificates will be given to all the children,
and if I have enough money, prizes for the top three creations for ages
14-18 and 13 and under. All creations will be drawn on your patio
sidewalk, so I’ll be available to help you clean your sidewalk of dirt and
weeds.
I NEED DONATIONS TO MAKE THIS WORK
In almost 3 years, I have failed to make any Community activity work, even when I was financing it myself. And you already know I’ve run out of money, so if I can’t get enough donations to make this work, well, it would be sad especially since it’s for our kids. So, regardless if Crayola comes through with their donation, I’ll need to raise at least $600 for chalk, certificates, flyers, mail, prizes and more. That’s only $20 from 30 Neighbors.
You can donate in several ways. By credit or debit card on the website, with CashApp (LPNANET), or place cash in the red donation box on my home. If you have, or know of a company that would like to donate, that would be great too. If we don’t get enough donations to have this event, the money will go toward paying down Association expenses.
The date right now is unsure depending on how fast the donations come through. Putting the event together will take a lot of work to make it a wonderful day for our kids, so I’ll keep you informed with the process on the website and my message boards on my home. Please donate.
A RE-STRUCTURING, NOT A CLOSING
As I ran out of money, closing the Association seemed like my only recourse. But with the number of Neighbors who asked for us to stay open, we had to go through a little re-structuring to see what we can do that doesn’t cost me much.
So, the Free Food Pantry and the Free Library will stay open, and we will accept donations of Food and Adult Fiction Books. We have plenty of Children’s Books at this time. We won’t be accepting Clothes right now since my home was becoming a Warehouse, and going through everything was quite time consuming. But we will always accept Toys.
And though I never wanted to financially impose on my Neighbors and ask for Donations, I need to now. If you can spare a little, it will be greatly appreciated. By credit or debit card on the website, with CashApp (LPNANET), or place cash in the red donation box on my home. Your donation will remain anonymous.
FINAL THOUGHT:
Miss Linda and I love our Neighbors and love our Community. It does become a little overwhelming with all the things we actually do for you. You may not see all we do directly, but trust me, it can sometimes take a lot of our day. Jeff Warner said, “We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other. If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.”
Have a Great Summer!
